Hole in My Pocket

27th Apr 2016

It's burning a hole in my pocket
Slipping through my fingers and out of my hand
I've been riding the rail on a rocket
The misers and the miscreants have never been pals

I've finally found a way
I've finally got to grips with those Wednesdays
I've finally made my mistakes
It’s not better to say nothing when there’s something to say

Stick your hand through the hole in my pocket
Somewhere in the lining there's a million pounds
I've been riding the rail on a rocket
and junking on the monkeys ain't as bad as it sounds

I've finally found a way
I've finally got to grips with those Wednesdays
I've finally made my escape
Finally took my baby to a special place

I’m fixing a hole in my pocket
If only for one reason it’s a hell of a plan
I've been riding the rail on a rocket
and all the pretty babies are now dancing the sham

I've finally found a way
Flying in the face of what's been lost and found
I've taken and eaten the cake
and looking good is better when there’s no-one around

I've finally found a way
I've finally got to grips with those Wednesdays
I've finally been given a break
Finally took my baby to a special place
