A Celebration of Some of the Region's Literary Talents

 

Saturday 6th Feb

John Nicholson – 11am – 12 noon at DRAKE – The Bookshop

Event Opening & Book Signings including John’s new book KING TEES. John will be talking about the new novel and reading a couple of extracts.

This is a FREE event.

 

John Nicholson, Melvyn Small, Dean Wilkinson & David McCaffrey – 12:30pm to 2:30pm at Storytellers Pub

Crime writing workshop. John Nicholson, author of the Nick Guymer detective series (soon to be made for the screen) will run a Q&A session and offer some tips and guidance on how to turn your crime related notes into a novel. This will be run alongside Melyvn Small, Dean Wilkinson and David McCaffrey who will offer their own insights into the world of crime fiction.

Tuesday 9th Feb

Paul Corking, Peter Brunton & Patrick Wilson – 10am at DRAKE – The Bookshop

Readings and Q&A & signings & photo opportunities.

 

Beryl Robinson & Allison Agius – 2pm at DRAKE – The Bookshop

Local authors Allison Agius (author of Used) and Beryl Robinson (author of A Life of Consequence) join us in the shop to sign books, and answer any questions about their books and literary careers.

6E Publishing – 7pm to 9pm at Storytellers Pub

Join 6E Indie Publishing for an introductory workshop to self-publishing. The workshop will give an overview of self-publishing including how to self-edit and revise, the production process as well as distribution and marketing.

Wednesday 10th Feb

Speed Dating –  7pm till 9pm at Storytellers Pub

Come and have an informal chat with your local authors. 1 author and 2 or 3 of you around a table. Get chance to ask about their books, their motivations and tips. Then when the bell rings move and and start again.

Saturday 13th Feb

CG Hatton – 10am to 12pm at DRAKE – The Bookshop

CG Hatton is the author of the Thieves’ Guild, a fast paced action/adventure SciFi series and also a partner in 6E Publishing. Come and hava a chat about all things SciFi, writing and publishing and pick up a signed copy of one of her books while you’re in.

Marion Husband – 12:30pm to 2:30pm  at Storytellers Pub

 A Q & A session with award winning Norton based author Marion Husband, who has written award winning novels such as “Say You Love Me” and the trilogy “The Boy I Love”, “Paper Moon” and “All the Beauty of the Sun” about troubled WWI veteran Paul Harris. Marion will be giving an insight into her motivations and offering advice on creative writing.
